Nate is one month

Nate is already one month old. To celebrate he came with us to Greatwaters (his grandparents golf/lake place) and he had a great time. We went out for brunch and he was so well behaved! He is starting to make little cooing sounds and we have enjoyed his first few sweet smiles.

Nates's Recap of the week

This week I went on a walk with Mimi, dad gave me a bottle and we bonded, I also cried and exercised my lungs a little. Miss Linda my momma's good friend when she used to work in North Carolina also came to see me all the way from Greenville, North Carolina. It made my mom really happy to see her. She told me that Miss Linda was a special person and helped her when her career was starting out. My mom also loves my little baby feet so she wanted to snap a quick picture of my feet. My Oma and Papa (paternal grandparents) are coming to meet me for the first time this weekend. I cannot wait to meet them

Nate is not a fan of shopping

ON Tuesday I attempted to introduce Nate to Loehmanns (simillar to TJ Maxx). Well lets just say that shopping is not his thing. The car ride was fine and he appeared to be ok for a little while then he launched into a full fledged screaming fit in the dressing room. I thought that I was going to have to run out of the store but thankfully, I was able to calm him down finish the stopping trip. Nate even came home with a new outfit for himself.

Birthdays

If you know me, then you know that I think birthdays are a big deal. Or at least a big reason to celebrate. I love birthday parties and I usually plan a nice birthday celebration for myself when May 8th rolls around. The two pictures at the top are from my 28th birthday party which was an 80s music dance party. We had a great time and all our friends were great sports to dress up and go along with the theme party. This year my brithday came only a few days after we returned home from the hosptial so it was a little more low key. Bonnie was very sweet and brought is some pizza and a yummy ice cream cake to celebrate. We took turns holding Nate so we could eat cake in shifts. Rob is holding my present while I blow out the candles. I am looking forward to planning some birthday celebrations for Nate. I hope he likes birthday parties as much as I do. What a way to start my 29th year as we celebrated Nate's arrival. I am saving up my party for the big 3-0 next year!

Nate sends a shout out to his Mimi

Mimi-

Thank you so much for caring for me the past few weeks. Thanks for spending the night at the hospital and helping my mommy while she was really weak at home. I really enjoyed hanging out with you and getting to know you. I know that we are going to best buds and I hope that I get to see you lots! Sorry that I scream so loud when you try to change my clothes. I scream even louder for mom and dad. My mom told me that you were a special person and she was right. Granddad is not bad either. I can's wait to see this fishing boat he keeps talking about. I like it when you guys rock me to sleep and hold me there for hours. I also enjoy our play time in the morning. Thanks for turning down so much golf to hang out with me. I feel very loved and I so happy that you are my mimi.

Love Nate

Special Visitors

Nate had a very special visitor last Friday. His great grandmother Cowan- GiGi came to meet her first great grandchild. Four generations spent the afternoon together. A mother and her son, a father and his daughter, a grandmother and her granddaughter, a new mother and her son. It was a special day!
Paige also came to meet Nate and help his momma after her work trip to Atlanta. We took Nate on his first walk. It was a short walk since I am still moving a little slow but it was great to get outside.
Rob's good friend Harper could not resist the heisman move with baby Nate.

Nate's first few days at home:
a trip to the pediatrician. He is good eater and growing a lot the doctor is happy with his appetite.
We also took him out of the baby swaddle, which is our best friend to give him a little exercise on the floor and I think his limbs gave him a little shock.
And this is Kermit week one.

Our first few days at home. Lots of sleeping and lounging around. I also could not resist the dad changing diaper pictures. He looks like he is going into surgery for when he prepares for diaper duty.
